So a few months back I bought a used TS-44 Pro buttset off eBay. It appeared to be in mint condition. The line cords were in perfect shape. Bed-of-nails perfect, etc. It worked fine but now one of the batteries (I think the primary 9V) needs to be replaced. No audio from speaker, etc. It has 4 screws on the backside of it to access the battery. I unscrewed them per the instruction manual (screws don't come all the way out per manual), but the door will not come off. I tried pulling it in all directions. I even knocked it on the edge of the concrete floor to see if that would loosen it, but no dice. Does not budge one smidgen. Would rather not break out the dremel

What am I doing wrong?

the door should just come right off , being a used E bay purchase I wonder if someone put some silicone or something on the door for waterproofing . I would pry with a knife blade or other thin tool

I also own a TS-44 Pro. I find that the cover is difficult to remove. I think that it was designed with the idea that it would only be opened when it was time to replace the battery.

Because I don't use it very often, I pull the battery after each use.

I think that I squeeze the sides and slide the cover back slightly. The cover has plastic hooks on one end and that may be the cause of the trouble.

Yeah I think this is what happened. The battery door will not budge.
I'll try a knife or something to wedge it loose, hopefully without destroying it.

I finally managed to get the battery door off using a couple of small precision screwdrivers, prying it off. It was not glued down, just a really, really tight fit. I guess because it is "water resistant". Battery had 1.25VDC on it, so yeah it was dead. Replaced with a new 9V battery and good to go.
