On the DSX, it's one of those "you pays your money and you takes your chances". The DSX is a soon to be orphaned product. Sure, NEC is a good company and it may or may not continue to upgrade the software, but the DSX is still on its way out. They're starting to discount the SL-1100 replacement system.
I ran a service call to a retail shop and guess what was mounted on the wall? A PARTNER! Dollar for dollar, you have to admit it's a sweet system, especially in the upgraded (rev 6 or 8) ACS it has a lot of bang for the buck and I don't think we'll be seeing a shortage of parts for the next 10-20 years. Funny, but you still run into Merlins from time to time.
