We've had this issue for some time now and I still haven't been able to get it resolved.

We have a few extensions to where they will get a phone call from a dialed ext that isn't theirs. At first I wrote it off as the persons are dialing a wrong extension, but this same problem has been going on for more than 6 months.

Further reinforcement on the idea that it is a real ext routing issue is that our own co-workers like to dial into their own voice mails from time to time to leave messages on their own inbox for the purpose of reminders in the following morning when they come in and for some reason this same pool of people get calls meant for others.

The craziest part of all is that this doesn't happen every time and because of that fact, it is hard to trouble shoot, and is something even our paid support tech vendor can't figure out. Every time that I have ever tested it using an outside line it always worked fine except once, which I also thought I fat-fingered something.

Is there others who have run into this problem or a place I could check that could pin point this issue? Is it a faulty hardware issue?

I'm not sure about anything else because otherwise the phone system works great like it should.

I had the same issue on an NEC Aspire S. Intermittently did not correctly recognize DTMF tones. Calls ended up going to the wrong people. On that one, I ended up replacing the whole box - but if it's a hardware issue on the UX - it would be wherever the DTMF decoders are. I think it may be the processor card.....just my 2 pennies.

Unfortunately when they replaced my voice mail card it also altered the password. I'm trying to reach to the tech that replaced it since yesterday.

I would have thought that since we did a back up and upload of the voice mail file it would have kept that the same.

I hope that isn't the case for us! (having no resolution and having to replace the whole box anyway)

You wouldn't have to replace the whole box. Processor is a card if it actually even IS a system problem. I suppose simple things like how often does it happen to what carrier(s) you have and what type of lines. How many calls/day do you take etc. I have seen this as a carrier issue more than a dozen times esp on using IADS. I have also had a case where the customer was calling me every 15 minutes because one person was having an issue dialing in out of 200 or so people and it ended up only being their (customer home) Vonage line causing the problem but it was made up to be this "big" problem.

If mostly Cell calls, on a cisco IAD/Router
DTMFS turned ON, under Voice Peering will fix.
System sometimes hears double digits.

Outside dials 330, goes to 333. dial 305, goes 330.
But can't hear on butt in.
