I remember that as well - seems like you can see the keycode (part of it) and you can press next maybe to see the rest of it, but without the original auth code, you can't regenerate it anyway.

Yes you can regenerate without the auth code per my post above.
Itcom just proved it.

Support tech enters the system ID code in the KRS system to see the current keycode.

Hence the name "Keycode Retrieval System".
