400 D cards of version 15 or later will work on bridged ringing.

SanBar 4000F cards are the KTU's of choice for the arrangement you have. They tolerate a wide variety of voltages.

I'll give it a whirl with the 400h because they are already on their way. If they don't work I'll have to scare up some of the San-bar cards. This is going to be a shoebox on a shoestring, so I have to try what I have first. Work has been kinda crappy so money is tight. Though line cards aren't usually too expensive, I'm not looking forward to buying connectorized cables to hook the phones up.

If I can get a 400H to work with a MagicJack, it's a good bet that they'll work with your VOIP setup. Let us know how it goes.

I can email you a very easy conversion to make a 400D work on bridged (metallic) ringing. It involves adding one ten-cent resistor and cutting one PC trace on the daughter board.

Arthur. I would like that very much. I have changed my email since we last spoke. Long story... Anyway, the ksu I bought comes with 4 400D cards. I'm not sure of which issue, but I doubt they are 15 or up. I bought 2 400H cards for cheap because I read somewhere here they should work. But if I can save by not buying anymore then, shoot, why the heck not. I'll have 2 spares when I throw the H cards in.

Mark. If they will work on a magic jack, which I've heard has a reputation of some pretty low voltages, its a pretty safe bet they should work behind my ACS. I will be sure to keep everyone posted on how things go. I can't wait for this thing to arrive.

Thanks! Looks pretty straight-forward. That will be a big help. My plan is to use 3 ACS extensions for 3 line appearances on the 1A2 that way each phone has access to an icom line, they can call each other through the ACS, and that sort of trickery. Only concern I have is when an outside call comes in. Maybe the fourth line card can be on a partner ext. that is the only one to ring on outside calls so when, say, line four rings you know it's an outside call. Now to figure out the A-lead control so they don't keep ringing if I answer the call from a partner phone...

Just some ideas I guess.

If you answer the call from a Partner key phone, the 1A2 system will continue to ring a few times until the interrupter returns to the "parked" position.

This will result in two things:

The line lamps on the 1A2 sets will continue to flash, and then go dark. They will not stay lit through the duration of the call.

The common ringers (if wired through a local generator supply) will continue to ring about three times and then stop.

I cannot see any way to provide A-lead control to the 1A2 system when the Partner phones are in use, without some serious circuit design. You do NOT want to put a loop current detector in the line before the Partner, to give A-lead control to the 1A2 system, because it would interfere with a legitimate loop current closure from the 1A2 sets.
