We have used a few of these with limited success. I personally have a unit made by Vox2, Inc. in Massachusetts for my Motorola Startac 7868W. We have also used a unit called the "CellSocket" that is being sold by someone in the Philadelphia area on e-Bay. At the time we bought it, they had 600+ of them and several models to match different cell phone manufacturers. The CellSocket is pretty high quality and has a booster antenna that helps with indoor signal issues. It was very reasonably priced at about $65.00. They consist of a charging base with an RJ11 jack that creates POTS dial tone and ringing. You just send it into the system as a regular CO line. Both units work fine for regular voice calling, but you must remember press the # key after dialing to simulate pressing the "SEND" key on the cell phone. Some important notes to remember when using these things: 1) They do not pass DTMF tones that can be heard by voice mail or auto attendants. Once the call is dialed, that's it for additional digits; 2) They don't pass data at all, not even very low-speed. I suspect that they don't handle fax calls either for this reason. They are still nice to have and since they are clean and compact AND charge the phone when it's seated in the base, it kills two birds with one stone. I say go for it!
