Hello all,
Would greatly appreciate some input on where to get a reasonably priced short (maybe 4 foot tall at the most) four post server rack.
Thanks!

I took a look at their selection. Most of those are way out of what I'm comfortable spending. I honestly just want to find something better than the glorified bookshelf I'm using right now. I want something more professional. Thanks for the link, I'll hold onto that site, they've got quite a bit of other cool stuff.

There was a two post one for a decent price, but if I'm going to get a server rack, I'm going to want to put my Dell PowerEdge 2950 server in it, which is like 70 pounds by itself.

Looking at the Startech site, that 4 post rack (Product ID: 4POSTRACK12A) for less than $300 is a pretty good deal. It stands 26" high with casters. It can support up to 596 pounds. I buy a lot of products from Startech and all their equipment is good. They carry the neatest gadgets.
Heck, I just talked myself into getting that rack.

I wouldn't have anywhere to put a 26" high server rack, lol! Maybe on the roof of the building I live in? Looks like you were a salesman to yourself!

Craigslist. That's where I picked up a 26U 4-post 19" rack cabinet w/ casters, 2 side panels and 1 door for $150.00 from a hospital about an hour away.

I'll take a look at Craigslist over here now. Thanks for the suggestion, didn't even think of looking there.

Yeah, for one of those you'll definitely want a four post. I put one in a two post once but it did NOT look safe. Plus it stuck way out the back like a boss... Finding a used one locally is my advice as well. I've given a few away over the years simply because they were taking up space in the shop and weren't worth selling.

I just picked up a Cisco two post one from here: I'm going to keep the server put up for now, I haven't been using it lately anyways. https://www.ebay.com/itm/110447029981I'm mostly just looking to mount my Ethernet switch and a few other things, so the two post will do for now. I have nowhere near 80 pounds of equipment, anyways. Thanks all!
