Someone asked me a question about this so thought I would share my experience Whether connecting locally via ethernet or remotely through a router you need a secure telnet program to talk to the Mitel 200 ICP. While Mitel supplies one on the data disk with each switch there are some things it doesn't do well (or at all) so in case anyone is interested " I like puTTY as my secure telnet program as it is easy to enable logging which is very helpful for capturing the "display" of system programming in form 32 in order to have a text copy of the program. And you can direct the logging to any folder and name the file. You can download it here - it's free https://www.putty.org/ a couple of things I have discovered with puTTY for connecting to the Mitel Set your connection type to RAW Set your keyboard to VT100+ Under "Terminal" set "Local line echo" and "local line editing" to "FORCE OFF" otherwise the Esc key won't work.

Dane,
Just wanted to say thanks for all your hard work. I don't know of any program that will do macros within putty. I think it's a shame that Symantec abandoned ProComm, would have been easy enough for them to add ssh capabilities. That being said, you could have done some cool thing with aspect.

To tell you the truth I am also surprised that hperterminal didn't do anything to add SSH either - oh well.
By the way I also have been able to get into PRI card remotely through a router (too me a while to figure that one out - by doing a lot of investigating in the router logs, etc. because of how IMAT is set up). Of course you have to set up the IP and subnet mask on site first and anytime you change the database you have to reset the card. But that being said it's a hell of a lot easier than trying to walk someone through the programming . Won't bother with posting the procedure as not many people probably need to use it, but if anyone needs to know I will be happy to help.
Dane

Johnp, check out AutoHotKey for Windows (It's free). https://www.autohotkey.com/ Yeah, I know this thread is 2 years old, but it's a great automation / macro program, works with almost all Windows software. Thought maybe you might still be looking for something.

"Local line echo" and "local line editing" to "FORCE OFF" otherwise the Esc key won't work. I do not see this option on mine and I can not get it to work. How do I get the esc to work?
Thanks in Advance

The version I am using does not have the options "Local line echo" and "local line editing" to "FORCE OFF" under terminal and I can not seem to find these options anywhere. I am new to telnet have never used this before. Was trying to web into systems but having issues with that as well. Esc works but comes up with some other characters and trying to navigate is almost impossible since when I press over it cputs in characters.
Thanks in Advance

What version of putty did you download? I recently just downloaded the putty.exe to access a site that had java issues and it worked fine with the force off settings.
Looking here I have 0.63
