Hello All,

First let me tell you I am VERY NEW to ESI. I previously managed a NEC PBX system but have only been here a few weeks and have yet to connect to our ESI system.

Our system consists of an ESI-200 server in my office and a remote ESI-100 server at a remote site. I do have all of the correct connect information, and originally setup and connected to the ESI-100 server with no issue. I then tried to setup the ESI-200 system and that is where I had the issue. I accidentally put in the wrong IP. After that, I tried editing that site (which caused the program to hang) and then deleted the site (which also caused the program to hang but it did remove it). Since that point, going into the ESI System Administrator only brings up a blank page and the status bar says "Loading sites...". It never gets past that point. If I try to do something like click File->New Site I get an Unhandled Exception. I can "quit" (which closes the program) or "continue" (which takes me back to the blank page). Obviously the install on my system is really messed up.

I have un-installed and reinstalled several times using both the most current version (1.2.14.29) and the previous version (1.2.14.17) but always the same result. I also tried uninstalling using CCleaner, then removing all folders on my PC referring to ESI and then reinstalling but again, it simply hangs at "Loading Sites".

Can anyone give me some ideas on how to correct the problem?

Thank you,
Daniel Joaquin

You need an Uninstaller program to uninstall the ESI Admin program. The program places several registry hooks that NO NOT get eliminated when using MS uninstaller or if you re-install the program. Personally, I use "Your Uninstaller" but there are several others.

Hello Rcaman,

Thank you for your sugestion but I still have the issue. I downloaded Your Installer as you suggested and did a "Super" level uninstall on ESI. After reinstalling I still have the same problem.

Here are some things to check:

1. You MUST install the Admin program as an Administrator. Before installing the program you must:

2. Remove ALL site info from Users\Roaming\ESI

3. You MUST disable DEP. At a DOS window, at the DOS prompt type the following:

BCDEDIT.EXE/set nx alwaysoff

4. Install the Admin program AS Administrator.

5. Sometimes, depending on your Windows configuration, you may need a third party ownership program such as "Take Ownership." This program will allow access to all places that the Admin program needs to have access.

you could try getting into the sites folder of the programmer itself, and delete the site name that you tried to delete when it got hung up. by default you can't have any sites with the same name. I have seen this issue . OR, it could be it just wont work. No Matter what you do. try it on a different PC?

Hello Brian,

I think removing the site from the site folder is exactly what I need but I haven't been able to find it. Can you tell me where it is located?

Hello Brian,

I actually found the sites. I did not find them previously because it was saved as New Site. I did another complete uninstall and then removed the entire "sites" folder. After re-install I could then go into ESI and get the splash page again (YAY!). But then when I tried to save the first site, it gave me another "Unhandled Exception". I now again cannot get the sites or splash screen when opening ESI.

Any other ideas?

Disable DEP as explained above.

Followed all of those directions including disabling DEP through command prompt. Still the same result. First site I configure gives an "Unhandled Exception" when I save. If I hit "Continue" I can successfully connect but if I leave the program and try to go back in it just hangs with "Loading Sites."
