The fax is set to pick up after four ring, but when you call it fail to. Also, both the fax machine and analog phone fail to ring, but both device will answer if you pick up manually.

It's working fine for us. we primarily use it for outgoing fax but we do have a few that is set for incoming and outgoing.

If you unplug the fax and plug in a plain old analog telephone and then call the DID, does the phone ring? If not and you've verified that you truly have the DID pointed to the correct extension, then you most likely have a bad ring generator. Did you try and move the fax to a different port on the SLC?

I tried it with a analog telephone and the phone does not ring. Thanks to the last few posting, I thought it was a bad ring generator, but when I used a fax machine with automatic pickup the fax machine did not pick up when I call. It could be the port, but fax machine should of pick up regardless of the ring generator is bad because the analog phone will answer if you pick up manually.

The site is 500 miles away and I do not want to pay a technician to move the fax to a different port.

I am curious how some of these DID fax were set for outgoing calls/use only. Do you know how? Can this be done on the Application?

For outgoing faxes only you just do not assign a DID.
