Under Messaging and then Mailbox and then E-mail Settings you'll see >
Status After SMTP/Pop3 Unheard Saved Deleted
Check which one you'd like;
Unheard = keeps them new Saved = will keep them in the mailbox as saved Deleted = will delete them entirely
Keeping them as saved is somewhat dangerous because before you know it all your UM mailboxes will have hundreds of saved messages that nobody thinks about.

Thanks! I was able to figure this out yesterday after I posted this thread.
Just curious...is their an option to "Delete All Saved Messages"?
One good thing about setting the system to delete after sending an email is that if the message does not get sent for some reason (exchange does not respond for example) the message will still be in your voice mail.
I don't know of a way to do it through the telephone interface while listening to messages. Since it looks like you have access as an administrator, you can clear all your messages trough the IPEdge Enterprise Manager.
In mailbox properties, there is an icon at the top of the page to clear mailbox. Click on that and another window will pop up. Check the box to delete messages. The messages will be deleted, but the rest of the mailbox will be intact (assuming you did not check any other boxes).
In the Class of Service, you can set how long the messages will stay in your mailbox until they are automatically deleted (during overnight housekeeping). The default is 30 days for new and saved messages. I always either extend this or uncheck the option to auto purge. This setting will effect everyone with the same COS. TYou can create a new COS if people want different settings.
Edit: I guess you got another answer while I was checking the user's guide for a delete all messages option.
