We use the Nortel NT8B27 Phones and I have a general understanding of the Voice-mail system, but for the life of me can not get a certain extensions voice-mail to work. Last time I was in the administration it said the Vmail linked to the extension was a different number then the extension is, but when I try and access that extension it says it is an invalid extension. Is there a feature that allows me to wipe his Vmail back to default settings? Cant seem to get any other method to work.

Thanks in advance
Nick

Yes you can default via F983 1
But you make no sense as to what the issue is so a reset may not help.

Don't do the F983 1 That wipes out your WHOLE VM.

You can use the ADMIN to change the config on that MB. Then set the ext to the right one.
If that does not work, try deleting that mail box and re-create it.

Thanks for the reply, I've tried deleting and reinstalling. His ex is 1927, but it says 2233 when I log in to admin, when I try and change it it tells me 2233 is not a valid extra and 1927 is already in use. I can reach his vmail via internal ext dialing, but not externally nor transfer to. Think previous owner of extension had a setting on it causing this?

" His ex is 1927, but it says 2233 when I log in to admin"

Do you mean to say "I went into mailbox 1927 and tried to change the Ext # from 2233 to 1927 but it states 1927 is in use?"

If so then you can you delete 1927, then delete 2233 then correct it from there.

Otherwise you need to be calling a tech in.

Yes that is exactly what I meant. I tried deleting both, but when I go to delete 2233 which is not assigned to anyone it tells me it is an invalid extension. Tech sounds like the way to go, I appreciate the help and your time for posting, so Thank you!

Maybe there is no 2233
F980 then enter 2233, if says invalid then no such mailbox.

Did 1927 delete ok?

1927 did delete without error, sorry on delay for reply.

We have everything working on the phone except transfers to VM. I can call him externally or internally and get VM no problem, but when we try and transfer a VM it does not work now. "Last hick-up"!!

Thanks again for the helpful advice, going to try the detection again of 2233 as asked now.

**update

I searched for 2233 and it is not in the system keep getting invalid extension and it is not listed in the list. I log into 1927 and when in the Mbox setting it shows 2233 set to his mailbox for some reason and it will not allow me to change that part of it, I hit change then 1927 and it tells me 1927 is already assigned.

Go into F983 and Change every mailbox and see if Ext: is 2233 is in one of those mailbox's and change it to what it should be or delete that mailbox if nobody is using it.

You also need to mention which voice mail and which software level when posting.
Once you log into F983 press 9 to see version and give us that at minimum.
