I have an iDCS 100, MEM card and a MISC 1 card.
I'm trying to use OSM to direct connect to the system. Tried diff cables with and without null. No joy.
Anyone with ideas ?

You probably have the SMCP1 card.
You'll connect to the LAN port on the bottom of the SMCP card with a cross-over cable. You need to get the IP address out of programming. Use the iDCS100 R2 software, LAN connection.

You have a MEM and a MISC 1 card like you mentioned then a Release 1 setting in the OSM. There are quite a few areas to look at as to why it won't work. It could be the cable, the wrong serial port on the MISC card or your PC, settings being used ie baud rate. I believe the 50Si and the 100 used a different cable than the old Compact. I would check the csble pinout to the manual I don't think it's a standard serial cable.

The Compact used a non standard Ground pin placement. The Compact 2 and 100 R1 and R2 used a standard serial cable.
As PVJ said i'd check the baud rate and sio port.
If you have a MEM4 card you can use the LAN port (don't know if the MEM3 has a lan port as we never got them down here)

It's a MEM card, not a MEM 3 or 4. Has 2 IO ports on the card Port 1 is setup for PCMMC, 9600, 8, N, 1 Laptop serial port is setup for Com 1, 9600, 8, N, 1 OSM is setup for Com 1, 9600 Using iDCS 100 R1 in OSM
Manual says DB 9 connector, 2-3, 3-2, 5-5
Made up cable, still no joy.
We had a system crash, I had a 9 year old DB that I couldn't upload. Had to enter everything manually. Would like to do a current backup, just in case.

mfecko, It's hard to tell from here what could be wrong.A few more things to try, maybe switch the I/O port on the 100 to the other? Do you get anything at all or just a timeout from OSM? We are assuming of course that your laptop serial port works and your cable is correct and the MISC card I/O ports work.
I don't remember what the last version of OSM was but google should find the files for you.

I believe with that system you need to use a Null modem cable or Null modem adapter. It's not the regular setup as for the voicemail or a R2.

Serial port on PC works with VM See wiring mentioned above. That wiring comports with null function. I/O port 2 cannot be set up as PCMMC, only port 1.
Again we built a cable per manual.
