As "IPO 500 Manager" is required for programming the phone system, I think port-forwarding is not suitable for remote access to a phone system.

So I always install IPO 500 Manager in a local computer, use Teamviewer to remote control the local computer if remote programming is required.

I think if VPN is set up, we might be log in to local network and get a local IP address, so we could connect to phone system through VPN.

Teamviewer and VPN are the 2 ways I could think of, is there any better idea for this?

Sorry, when I open the knowledgebase, there are 5 options there: communicators, One-X mobile, One-X portal, soft console, softphone. I didn't find SSL VPN solution.

Is SSL VPN used for AVG(AVAYA VPN Gateway)?

Yes, partners can use the AVG platform for an SSL connection to the IP Office, just as Avaya does.

Sounds like your SSO is for a user, not a technician, which would explaing user manual type access to the Knowledgebase.

You must be an Avaya business partner to purchase AVG or view that content.

There's also the built in modem if you have a combo card installed...

Make a dial up networking connection to the IPO just like we used to do for the BCM. You might want to enable DHCP server for Dial In on LAN2 to make life easier...

We've run into issues with security settings for the dial in connection on 9.1 systems:

On all new installs (and any old ones you go to) please change the security settings:

From File > Advanced > Security Settings, log into Security Settings
On the Services section, click on Configuration
Change the Security Level from Secure,Medium, to Unsecure+Secure.

no, we are not a AVAYA business partner. And as we just get some AVAYA systems occasionally, I don't think my boss will pay some money to purchase AVG services.

And could we set up port forwarding to remote access IPO500 Web Manager? It looks Web Manager had most functions to program the system.
