Hello

I have a few systems using Gmail as the email gateway but within the last 3 or 4 weeks they have all stopped working any one else had this problem or have an idea of what it might be?
Have gmail stopped the free use of there smtp server maybe?

I have tried a different account and still the same, I'm using smtp.gmail.com SSL and port 465.

Thanks in advance

We've had one stop working on a 7200s but a reboot and changing the details to a known working login then back to the old login got it going again. Very strange...

I've had this happen on a few. It appears google is phasing out TLS on accounts. Switch to port 465 SSL and you should be good.
I can't find the link I saw but a lot of people are reporting it.

I usually use:

smtp.gmail.com
587
ID: (gmail account)
Password: (any)
Domain: gmail.com
Encrypted: Yes
Encrypted Type: TLS

*It used to work without domain until recently they changed something.

I have used Gmail for the past year and half. It stopped working on all my sites as of March 29, 2016. I used both TLS and SSL with ports 465 and 587 and still not working. Contacted Tech support and they said everything i have is correct and only suggestion was to upgrade to 4.8X and higher!. I did upgrade still no change.

Type in gmail.com for the domain. Use 587/TLS

Tested on a new gmail account and a 7030 4.91 works ok.

Check VMAA, Operating Utils, Activity Log 8.7.3 see if errors and what type eg timeouts, Auth error, and will show address and port its trying to use.
Example of a succesful one.

NOTICE - MIME Message 0000004A, Time: 3.57s, Voice Size: 20636, Fax Size: 0
NOTICE - SMTP Message 0000004A, Time: 17.50s, Sent to Address: [email protected]
Message 0000004A sent via SMTP relay

My settings in System Parameters and Mclass
