I have an Officeserv 7030 with a basic setup. I have just changed over to NBN and have 4 sip lines. The problem i have is with two lines being used i cannot make a call or recieve a call on another line. Have i setup something wrong or do i have to have more than 4 slots? Is it possible to overflow onto my UNI-V 1 line that i use for fax only?

Do you have 4 sip and 4 mgi licenses available? What error are you getting? What kind of line is the UNI-V 1 line?

yes i have 4 licences for both. i can't remember what the message says, something about no mgi left. I will have a look today. The UNi-v line is something like a pstn line over fiber.

How many VM ports do you have?
1 cabinet or 2?
What handets do you have?
Each call will use 2 mgi initially if you have digital handsets. 1 for ring generation and 1 for the call.
Your error is probably "No MGI Chs avail"
You don't want to overflow your voice lines to the fax line unless you connect it to the system and the fax via an SLT port.
Otherwise the 5th call is going to get answered by the fax machine.

How many Voicemail ports do you have?
Do you have 1 or 2 cabinets?
To get more MGI channels you will need a 2nd cabinet

When you get the "no mgi channels" error, how many people are on the phone?

If you have 4 sip trunks and 4 mgi channels, then you can have 4 active calls going on at the same time. If you are getting no mgi channels available, this means there is either 4 active calls going whether it's people talking on the line or the calls ringing into the system.

Unfortunately, the OS-7030 is not suited to the configuration that you're trying to run. When using SIP trunks with digital or analog stations, each call requires two MGI channels. With your current setup, you will never be able to have more than two simultaneous calls.

You can't get any more MGI licenses without getting a 2nd cabinet.
I have a customer with the same config as you and was having the same issue.
We checked and only 2 of the 4 mgi channels were in the MGI group. We've added the other 2 and they haven't had an issue.
Check 4.1.4 in DM and make sure there are 4 members in ALL groups.

Do you have any other IP devices (eg ip handsets, sip extensions)?
Can you send me a DB backup from DM so i can check your config?

Actually, digital to sip only takes up 1 mgi channel at a time. I tested it at my office. We have 3 mgi trunks and 3 sip trunks. I made 3 simultaneous calls from 3 28b sets. Is your provider actually giving you 3 sip trunks or only 2?
