I am new to our school district and we are in need of the 5100 series administrative tool software to adjust the times of tones and so on. It was never given to us from Simplex Grinnell after the installation was completed 14 years ago and has never been an issue till we changed school start and release times this year. Does anyone have any insight as to where I can get that software?

Have you checked to see if there are any dealers in your area? [Johnson Controls]-[Tyco]-SimplexGrinnell has about 8 location in Illinois.

As you may have found that there are location on the web that 'claim' to have the software for downloading, but I'd shy away from them unless the site is recommended.
Good Luck.

Hopefully someone has a better answer than I do.

Unfortunately SimplexGrinnell is who has been servicing our school system prior to this and they want $500 just to come out plus whatever for additional time from what I'm told. I did find some of the sites claiming to have the software but I agreed with you to stay away. Thanks for the input.

It's the cost of doing business these days.

If you do manage to locate the software remember most proprietary software is not Plug and Play:

There could be various version of the software...some work in DOS environment while others work in Windows variety: XP but not NT. Win 7, but not higher.

If you are looking at the screen to you know EXACTLY what you are looking at? Some software can be intuitive while others are esoteric. I cannot even locate a screenshot of the software.

Good luck.
