Since Toshiba is going away since Mitel issued the end of life dates we are looking at our options of which direction to go in.We will still support toshiba but need to find a good reliable alternative. For small business I am thinking of going with the LG Vertical system. For the larger business I was looking at Avaya but trying to get info from them has been convoluted. Any suggestions or input on which direction your company is taking would be appreciated as we are the ones who work on the these systems. Sort of looking to migrate to a system that isn't going to take too much of a learning curve and comparable to Toshiba.Thanks

For Avaya I would contact Jenne or Scansourse Catalyst. Although Avaya is going Hosted.
We looked into taking on a new hardware system recently. Could not be confident any would be around much longer.
Panasonic small systems may be around for awhile.

We decide to go mostly Hosted. Very pleased with it.

I have gone all hosted. I working with/for one of the best and largest. They offer a white label program and you would be surprised to see how many "hosted providers" are just a private label riding on our backbone. I'm changing all of my IPedge clients to SIP trunks provided by me and when their SUS runs out in 2021 it's a easy transition. My CIX clients if their network is stable I'll change them over when their service contract or CLEC contracts are up for renewal.

We went with NEC products. sv9100 is a good product for small to medium size business and comparable to Toshiba as of learning how to install it and use it. Tech support is oustanding also

I had also contacted NEC .Well not actually NEC itself but Teleco who was our Toshiba Dealer when MITEL took over. They want to set up a video conference as Teleco is now pushing NEC in our area.Not sure if NEC will do all we need and be as flexible as Toshiba but I have no experience on NEC.

When you say you went Hosted are we talking about Avaya? Will give JENNE and Scanscourse Catalyst a call also.

I worked on Toshiba's in the past and NEC at the present, which is more flexible? I give NEC the nod! SV8100 and now the SV9100 are fun systems to work with.
NEC's low end SL2100 is also a great alternative for small customers.

We became an NEC dealer shortly after Toshiba said they were throwing in the towel. We have been very pleased with the SV9100. New installations and a few Toshiba forklifts and no major gripes.

We had one account that had outgrown the Toshiba. Seemed like a new complaint every week. The account you don't like to hear from. Somehow we managed to show them they needed a PRI to handle increased call volume and to get away from StrataNet. One system with IP phones would make more sense. Toshiba imploded so we recommended NEC. We also sold the Call Center and InControl reporting. 1 week after installation, they commented upon how much better this solution was. It is doing everything they want. They are now one of my favorite accounts to work with because we actually help them.

we have found NEC to be most like the CIX line, other than the boring phones the systems work nice, the iphone app is really cool with the squared line appearance ability, its the only one I've seen with that. they lack a server based system and no real cloud offering.

Mitel has some nice stuff but i probably don't need to tell anybody in here what a mess that company is right now, every week we get a different "road map" of the future of mitel.
We have installed the 250 and it is a really nice product, nicer looking phone offerings.
Mitel 3300 is their server based system, we have installed one of those as well, it does everything and has the nicest phones ( 6900 series) especially the bluetooth handset. If they just scaled the 3300 down to a small, medium and large system (like the ipedge) it would be perfect. They have to many different expensive training modules for all the different systems they offer. it makes it hard to get to be a "mitel expert"

Hey SSPhone, which hosted provider did you go with?
we like what Star 2 Star has to offer, squared line appearance, trunk sharing. so far we feel like they are a good fit for us.

mitel hosted just seems like they want us to hand our customers over to them and walk away.

I went with Mix Networks and love it. I looked at NEC, Samsung, ESI and Tadiran and just didnt want to be put into a position a few years from now with another manufacturer bailing out. I've had this happen 2 times now Telrad in 2008 and now Toshiba. I thought I would make it to retirement with Toshiba but guess not. Mitel was never on my list as they never bothered to contact me when they bought out Toshiba. The folks at Teleco did as we choose than as distributors. I feel like a new man now with Mix I have taken a senior sales engineer position as an employee and am tasked with finding dealers like myself to be agent partners. I passed on star 2 poor also when the leading companies informed me the would loan on any star2star system.
