It has been years since I touched a Partner ACS, so it is likely something that I missed.
Background:
Partner ACS 509 processor in 5 slot cabinet , Couple of old 206 cards in slots 1,2, 2 port VM in slot 4
Customer ignored Replace Battery on Ext 10 and a power outage wiped the programming All of the VM's are still there, All of the AA menu definitions are still there - Menu Definitions Saved.
Reprogrammed everything and have VM answering on EXT 34 & 35 / Hunt group 7 answers on Intcm 777 #104 - 4 lines #206 - Group 7 Lines 01 - 04 / 1 Assigned #505 - Group 7 Ext 35 & 35 / 1 Assigned #506 - Day and Night / Lines 01 - 04 / 2 Rings Delay #507 - Lines 01 - 04 / 1 Always Central Programming - EXT 34 & 35 / Lines 01 - 04 Unassigned
Ok, I am trying to figure out what the heck I missed? When calling in the AA is not answering - It says "Transferring to Attendant" and xfer to Ext 10. I need the AA to answer.
Yes, I have gotten very rusty on Partner. Been spoiled by network connections to program....
Any thoughts are appreciated.

If auto backup is active, the configuration should be saved to either an external PCMCIA or internal memory. Short of that....is the voicemail a Partner Mail VS or an Avaya Partner Messaging?

If the Voicemail is Partner Messaging, the ports to assign to #505-7 would be 31 and 32 instead of 35 and 36. You can leave the lines assigned to the VM ports, as calls will be filtered through the VM Calling Group which distributes the calls to the VM ports with Mode Codes. Right now, the ports are receiving ringing, answering, NOT receiving Mode Codes, and transferring to the Attendant

It is Partner Mail VS. I have a typo in the above. The extensions assigned in #505-7 are 34 and 35. I had to go find my vm extension by calling them. Partner mail VS answered on Ext 34 and 35. No answer on 31 and 32. That is why I assigned those. I was counting the slot for the processor as 3, but looking in the manual - the correct slot that I should have written is slot 3. 2 Port Partner Mail VS in slot 3.

I did try that #125-1 and it showed an entry for a date in 2006. I selected that and proceeded and it did not restore anything. Did I miss pressing a key after selecting 1? There is no backup card in the slot in the processor.

For VS Mail, and an ACS R7 or R8 ( 9 station ports on the ACS), your VS ports are 35 and 36 ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/xyeuZeL.jpg)

I'll shoot back onsite sometime tomorrow and see how insane I have gone then. I guess it is possible that it is a 4 port system and that I only have 2 ports answering and that the other 2 are not getting the mode codes. I might just be embarrassed. It has been so long since I have touched one of these.

Nope to the backup. Seems like it hasn't happened in quite a few years. Once the programming is squared away, backing up the configuration to the internal memory and scheduling periodic auto backups would be well worth it. If the processor is an R7, updating it to the last release, or, upping it to the final R8 release might be worth floating to the customer. The last R7 s and all R8 releases dispose of the batteries keeping the configuration alive during power failures. When the processor powers up, it reconfigures itself based upon whatever configuration is stored in memory.

Partner mail VS answered on Ext 34 and 35 Are you SURE you have an ACS R7 or R8? (5x9) Press (Feature) (5)(9) on a display phone. -Hal

Hal,
It is R7
Touch Tone Tommy,
My bad, it is a 4 port so I assigned 33,34,35 and 36 in #505-7.

That'll do it!! Glad you got it sorted out.
Port assignments are such a constant question, I finally made a spreadsheet that uses drop down boxes to say what module is in what slot, what kind of VM and how many VM ports you have, to generate the little picture that I uploaded with the VM ports highlighted
