I've been tasked with a project where we are performing a major expansion of an existing XTS system. We are adding two expansion cabinets and a slew of SLIB12E cards. When I go to program the slots in the expansion cabinets, it will only allow me to assign an SLIB12E to the first slot in cabinet 1. Any other slot entries are rejected. Upon viewing a port count in CONFIG, it shows this additional card putting the total station count at 96. This is indicative that I'm being limited by port count, not slots. I was under the impression that the regular MPB in the XTS allowed for 252 total stations, and the MPBE allowed 492. I'm being limited to 96, as if there is a smaller MPB. Is this such a thing?

I resolved this on my own. There is an MPB1 that supports only a single cabinet and 96 stations, the MPB2 supports three cabinets and 252 stations and the MPBE supports six cabinets and 492 stations. Thanks anywey.

Thanks anywey. Believe it or not, I almost answered your question with that information but, I said to myself, "Ed knows that, so it has to be something more complicated."
