My customer, a doctor, has an answering service, that takes messages, etc., on weekends amd holidays. Can the Partner ACS call forward his calls (to outside number) using remote call forwarding on one buttton on a set? His receptionist would just press "forward" when she wants, and turn it off when not needed, by pressing same.
Will he need telco to program call forwarding as a feature on his line for this to work using the system RCF?
This seems pretty straight ahead, but I just want to be sure.

Yes it does use a second line to forward, you must have ACS R6 for this feature.
If they have VMS you could assign outcalling and he can have the VMS call him when he has a message if that will help. And he would have control over it.

You can have telco set up the remote call forwarding, and then put the forwarding code as a speed dial on a button, and the cancel code on another button. If you use the partner to forward the calls, it will use trunk to trunk transfer, and tie up 2 lines on every incoming call.

This customer is very old fashioned, and his older patients feel comfortable talking to a live voice. I tried to sell him VM w outcalling, but he didn't like the difference in pricing between the Avaya PC card VM and the Partner VM, which he would have to get for outcalling to pager. I felt the Talkswitch as a standalone was a good alternative, but he wants to "wait".
The system is ACS R6, and I don't imagine taking up two trunks would be a problem, since noone is in the office at the time. As long as all the receptionist had to do is press one button on/off for forwarding, after I programmed it.
He uses telco now. I just wanted an option to make the new system shine a bit more.

Then I would go for the remote trans, be sure you look at the related programming to insure all works well.
