I am relatively new to the phone systems world, so this is new to me. I do come from a computer networking field with over 15 years of experience, but as I said phones are new to me.
Is there a way to block incoming calls with our Avaya 406?
Thanks in advance...
Rob

Sure, if you have caller ID , you can do most anything you want to with inbound calls. Do you use 1FB's,T-1 or PRI? And have you been into the manger software?

We have a PRI.
And yes, I have been in the manager, but could not find anything...

I've checked incoming call route, but I do not see where I can do this.
There is only one page per line with no other tabs or buttons...

When you get into the incomming call route section. Put your mouse over on the right hand screen and right click.

Well, I don't see anything different when I right click.
I have Incoming Route on the left hand pane and on the right hand pane I have Line Group ID, Incoming Number and Destination columns.
When I right click on the right side I get the options to view, edit, new, delete...for all the individual lines.

Ok. It doesn't seem to be very intuitive.
Or, I'm messing something here. I have Line group ID, Incoming number, Incoming sub address, incoming caller ID, Destination, local, priority, fallback extension…
Do I put the number that I want to block in the Incoming Caller ID field?

Yes, and if you dial 9 to grab dial tone. You will need to put that also.
You can set-up a ghost AA. or VM box for these calls to go to.
