Look at the hardware configuration. The 1st 206 module is Ext. 10 through 15. The 2nd 206 is 16 through 21. The Processor doesn't count, and the VS mail is ext. 22 through 27.
As I said in my first post, a mailbox made for an extension that doesn't have physical hardware for that extension number will cover immediatly, even though the global VMS cover ring setting is higher.
Your Ext. 20 is physically present on the 2nd 206 card, and ext. 30 is truely "phantom", it lives on the 4th slot, where nothing is installed.
Why use 52 and 53? They are totally arbitrary. What happens if you decide to add another station card, and end up using Ext. 30 for a real phone? Or even skip over it but use other ports on the card? Well, the phantom voice mails go back to 3 or 4 rings before answering. So, pick extensions at the END of the range, so you're not likely to actually need them for real phones.
AND, I like to somehow corrolate the selector codes to the mailboxes. So, I picked mailbox fiftyTWO to go with selector code TWO, and fiftyTHREE for code THREE.
