Yes you are correct, a line cannot be assigned to more than one hunt group.
I know we can do VM coverage for a calling group with the R7 but as far as a hunt group you are asking me about something I haven't tried however I'm sure it can be done.
The person to talk to here would be Tommy (touch tone tommy). Most likely he has done this before and I'm going to take the easy way out here and let him tell us both how to do it.

I haven't done voice mail coverage for a hunt group, just for a calling group, where all extensions available in the group ring simultaneously.
I'm not even sure that you can cover a hunt group, since the calls circulate through the group until someone answers.
So I would look for another way to distribute the calls in the first place (Partner's hunt groups aren't that versatle anyway), then provide voice mail with a group mailbox on an R7, or a cheesy loop around (or even an answering machine on a spare extension port) if you have to stick with the PC Card Mail
