Avaya contracts out the manufacture of Partner ACS and, up until the time it was discontinued, Merlin Magix equipment to Celestica. So, in a way, Ohio Telecom spoke with the company that truly manufacturers the R7 Partner ACS processor.

Please tell me more about this. I had no idea that Avaya wasn't manufacturing their own hardware. Sorry to sound ignorant, but I really don't deal much with their products any more than necessary, so I don't keep up with Avaya's daily changes.

I assumed that. What I want to know is where is Celestica and why would they talk to you?

www.celestica.com

hbiss I thought you were an Avaya dealer. If that was true you would know where they are and how to contact them. How and why I am able to talk to them really is none of your business.
Now anyone wanting to know about Celestica I implore you to start a new post.

Touch Tone I have tried every scenario, even what you describe would not work. really odd. I have other systems with a similiar config and it works, so maybe it is the carrier.

No. As a dealer my support comes from Avaya. That corporate website is of no help in what we are talking about. I could have Googled that myself.

Celestica is a Canadian-based company that does contract electronic manufacturing for various manufacturers such as Avaya.

I think John Shelton, in one of his excellent overviews of either the Partner or Merlin product lines, mentions the year that Avaya handed production of the Partner and Magix hardware over to Celestica.

Here is the link to his Partner System Overview.

I had exactly the same problem. I had a ACS R3 with 2 308 and 1 VS R5 card. The 308 processor partially failed, leaving me with no extensions on that card. I replaced it with an 509 R7 and the VS card would not work. I would get the quick blinking red LED then nothing.

I sent the VS into a company for repair, assuming the hard drive died. They did a flat rate repair, sent it back and it works just fine now. I am not sure that they replaced the hard drive, perhaps they flashed it with new firmware. But it works now.

I just recently added a VS R5 to a single 509 CPU and it works fine, no pronlems. So I further suspect that your VS card needs an upgrade to the latest firmware.

Email me for the name 0f the company. I got smacked for posting it here.
