That's real cute. I've seen the picture before. One might respond with a picture of an Avaya sales person who is arrogant and thinks they have the only viable platform on the planet. It's their way or the hiway. What an attitude those people have... I also saw a working Cisco/Definity (in mid migration) system yesterday and a customer who is completely satisfied. Don't get me wrong, I've been a fan of Avaya's hardware for some time. I have not drank the Cisco OR Avaya kool-aide. My eyes are wide open and I'm checking out all the options. Richard

Just a fiendly warning to you. I have friends who are system admins as well. One choose to migrate to Cisco and one was forced. All migrations were disasters. One guy comes in every day at 5am to reboot the gear as there are always issues without the reboot. The other guy was "let go" after the migration.

Rather than having your vendor show you a client in the process of migrating, I would suggest looking at a client that migrated a year ago or so. Find out how happy they are after the initial glow of something new and exciting has worn off.

Back to this old topic. Last time I looked at upgrading from G3 v7 the Avaya business partner told me we would use the existing cabinets, simply replacing all the processors. Would this still be the migration path? We are moving a lot of folks around here. The building where the PPN resides will soon be empty. The idea of upgrading is no longer being laughed at. My boss and I strongly discouraged the notion of moving the PPN to the new data center. Too much down time. Let's just put all new stuff in. So what would I be putting in? A couple of giant cabs like I have now, or smaller 19" rack equipment?
And yes I could ask my BP about it but I want to hear from other users
Richard
