Today I was talking to an Avaya Business Partner associate. (not a technical type) And she was saying that this particular version (Partner Small Office Edition) was basically an ACS that could not be expanded beyond 3 lines and 8 phones. (You can also have the Flash Card Mail) I've personally never heard of this. Is this just something I missed?

Never sold one, never will. It reminds me of the Endeavor, nearly every one that we sold came back to bite us. The customer always eventually wanted something that it couldn't do, something that the regular ACS of the time would do.
With the SOE I will guarantee you that most will want that fourth line or that ninth extension or a more capable messaging system sometime.

We never sold one either for the same reasons Hal has already mentioned.
I asked our sales person about this and they thought it was a limited time bundle package deal.
Can you still buy it new through Jenne,Voda or Catalyst?

I logged into the web site to see if it was available.
Volume 20, page 32 has the newer ones that support 4 CO.

Is that 4 or 5 lines? Out of the box, the R7 will handle 5 lines.

if I'm not mistaken it cant grow , so if the customer needs to add lines or stations they can keep the phones but you need to sell them a ACS
