I am from the networking world and am just getting into the voip interconnect world. I have a customer with a older Partner system with 6 analog trunks. I am replacing the trunks with analog trunks from a voip system. The current patch cords are rj45 which is an 8 pin connector. I am sure I only need the Tip and Ring and would like to know if anyone knows the Partner pinout for the lines. Yeah I know I can find out by checking the trunks, but would like to avoid interrupting the service for the customer. Thanks for helping me be lazy.

Yup, it is just the center pins. If you want to use an "RJ-11" line cord, that will work just fine into the Partner's line port.

Just to confirm, by center pins you mean pin 4 and5 on a rj45. Tnx. Also good to know the RJ 11 will work as well.

They are the same as any regular phone. Use a regular line cord. Both the line ports and the extension ports on the Partner happen to be 8pos/4pin for a reason other than making you think you have to use patch cords.
