Good luck with that. There are so many questions that need to be answered in order to begin to formulate an answer.
How are calls coming in now, pots lines or PRI? Is the card installed on the system and programmed into a calling group already?

You can get yourself all the manuals you want at Avaya.com for free.

Do you know anything about the Magix? The first thing I would do is go to Avaya/support and download the manuals you need.
The Legend or Magix is not something that you are going to handle without some knowledge and experience.

Some very nice people live in Kentucky, one of which just happens to be an Avaya partner. Please consider contacting Walker Solutions or by sending a PM to Mike Daniel directly. If push comes to shove, I'll help you out. You can't imagine how much sympathy I have for a guy in your spot...especially with all the humility you have shown. Welcome to the board, my friend.

For POTS lines, place the lines into a calling group, say 775. Then overflow the calls, Time Based, for say 20 seconds. This gives the calls time to be answered. Be sure you turn up the Number based command to 99. Then put 775 into the Night service. Program a mailbox in the Merlin Messagingf system for775 to play the auto attendant greeting. That's the way it's done....KB
