I did a "display media-gateway" command, but do not see an Authenticated field. The phones are down again this morning, and the gateway is unregistered. What I need to find out is why it keeps unregistering, and then re-registering. The Avaya tech said that the routing problems need to be addressed before the issues will go away, but if there are routing problems now, why hasn't this problem reared it's ugly head a lot sooner? This phone switch has been working great for 3 years with only minor hiccups. I obviously cannot do anything when gateway is unregistered.

While the phones were up this morning, I tried a save translation lsp command, which said that it completed successfully. It did, however, only take a split seconds and when I do a list lsp command, there is nothing in the Translations Update column. I'm not sure if there is supposed to be, but I doubt that the translations were actually sent.

Avays is now pointing at network routing issues. Nothing has changed on my end in a very long time, and the phones have been working without problems for longer. I am in the process of monitoring all of the IP interfaces on both switches to see if one of them ever goes down. I feel like I'm chasing my tail.

My mistake, I meant registered field. What is the link between both systems? Did a T1 protocol change on the provider side?

It's a point to point PRI T-1. I called the provider first and they assured me that everything is the same, and that they test clean all the way to the CSU. (The first tech told me that he saw errors on the line, which is what threw me off the trail for a whole day.)
