First, Merry Christmas all! I have a repair tomorrow on a Magix, the problem seems to be volume drop on fowarded calls. They have 9 lines that are assigned to 8 fowarded phones. I dont know yet if its all calls or some calls. The ticket also says a 800 ls/gs module has been sent. And of course Verizon says all lines tok (yea right!) So before I go to battle, any words of wisdom ?

Go there, verify the problem and get back to us with what's really happening.

You are dealing with 9 forwarded CO lines. Each one takes another one to be able to Forward calls(all together 18). Its like a Conference condition. You will drop the volume unless you are using a Conference Bridge.

To get around low volume on trunk to trunk calls, why don't you have Verizon call forwarding..works like a charm. Are the 8 lines in rotary hunt or separate lines????

The last time that I checked, Call forwarding-variable costs about $3.50 per month plus a message unit charge per forwarded call. That sounds like a bargain to me in an effort to maintain a true 1:1 quality forwarded call.
When using central office call forwarding, the call never reaches the customer's premises. It simply bounces to the forwarded number as if it had been dialed directly. Sounds like a win-win situation to me.

Verizon CF is expensive
Sounds to me like this would be more of a job for Centrex and a Centrex transfer by the AA. Centrex will actually save them money.

Trk to Trk transfer thru a Merlin has ALWAYS had volume problems....I never tell the customer they even have the feature. If they want multi-call conferencing or RCF...they should go with there dial tone provider or 3rd party conference centers.

Magix T2T transfer audio levels are fine if the call is received and forwarded over a digital facility (where gain/loss isn't a factor).
