I changed employers. The laptop I'm provided with doesn't have a 9pin serial port. It does come with a USB to 9pin adaptor. Have any of you ever successfully used that with the 355af adaptor to log into Legend admin?

I just recently built a new Desk Top PC, and realized that it had no RS-232 Ports.
Therefore I bought an adapter like this one on ebay:
320356755723
And, I was delighted to find that I could actually assign it to Com 1.
Works like a charm for me.

Ive used it with a 355a on partner , not sure about legend but that really shouldn't make a difference
Ive used it on NEC , comdial and Cisco (from recent memory

I have had no problems either.
The main thing I have seen people do is not install the software that comes with the device.

The only problem that I have had is that on one of the Laptops it would only come up as Comm port #6.

I was able to change that "COM #6" issue, but it took a few steps.
First off, even though my new Mother board didn't have a physical Serial port, the BIOS still showed one.
So, I disabled that one.
I was then able to change the "COM #6" to COM 1, when I installed that USB to Serial adapter.
It's been COM 1 ever since.
