I have a customer that has this system. They would like to get 25 lines and 25 ext from it. This looks very doable by putting the T-1 card in slot (1) and (2) 308 expansion packs with the 509 processor this should give me my 27 lines and 27 ext which would have 2 left over of each. I keep getting the run around when I talk to my supplier about using the T-1 card. So the basic question is does the t-1 card work or not and should this config work? Thanks

I have never used it because of the cost but yeah, it does work. Your configuration I believe is doable also- if you like a mix of pots and a T1.
If it were me I would be looking at something other than the Partner for this. You are asking a bit much of it.

I believe you missed 2 extensions. You are gonna have only 25 available ports and if you planing to have third party VM then you going to loose another 2 or 4 depends on your requirments.

So next time he would like to add 1 phone you will have an opportunity to sell another 308EC or 012 card and make some $$$. Good deal!

Mark, Man, you are going to have the customer pretty much maxed out right out of the gate.
I would look at selling them a used/refurbed Magix or a new IPO.
Also, the T-card on a Partner is T-1 only. No PRI. No CID.

Yup, Michael is right. No more room in the system cause of the VM card. They max out. I would try what Michael suggested, other system.

Thanks your right it will be maxed out. This may not be the best fit for them now. My problem is they already have the partner and want to expand it. But I will pitch the idea of a new system with a trade on the old, this should get them moving in the right direction for expansion.

Well, look at it this way ..You can save them money on the upgrade to the Magix meaning they can still use the Partner telephones. It probably makes better sense anyway, then You can get a PRI in there and you're done

Partner telephones operate differently when they are connected to a Merlin Legend or Magix. Users might not like those changes especially if they are used to the phones acting a certain way.
If you upgrade to a Merlin Magix, consider going with the 4400 series digital telephones.
