Please excuse my lack of experience here. I am new to this system and phone programming. I have a partner ACS 509 V7 controller and 5 slot carrier when hooked to the carrier. and turned on, the light goes from red to green on the processor, but I get nothing when I plug a phone into extension 10. I have a good line with dial tone plugged into inbound line 1. I have tested all the cords and have tried 3 different phones that were know good phones. How do I tell if the unit is bad or am i just doing something wrong. I am under the assumption that the phone should display (euro 18d) via the led window. Help!!!

Are you using a 2pr station cable from X10 on the ACS to the 18-D? And have you tried unplugging the power cord from the 5-slot carrier and plugging it directly into the ACS, then trying the phone? Also make sure you don't have the station cable plugged into the AUX jack on the bottom of the 18-D

Thanks for the quick reply. I have made sure the aux jack is not used and it is the phone line. I am using wiring as follows. Pair 1 (T1 & R1) Usually the primary dial tone or talk circuit is wired to the center two pins (pins 3 & 4) and is the white/blue and blue/white pair (AKA: T1 & R1 - tip 1 and ring 1). A standard single line phone draws dial tone from these center pins.
I have not plugged the processor directly to the power cord, but will do so and check back.
Thanks a bunch Michael.

Ummm, Partner is TWO pair. You must use a 4 wire line cord and associated two pair wiring.

Ok, guys, sorry for the delay. I have used a 4 pair wiring phone cable and tried several different phones and the plugged into all the ports on the r7 processor, but the phones still do not light up. Is there a way to reset or test the processor. Do i need to send it in to get fixed? what's my next step. P.S. I also plugged the power cord in directly. Thanks in advance. Your help is appreciated.

You have to get another one or send that one for repair. Your choice.

Sounds like lightning hit your copper phone lines and caused internal processor damage. You still get a green light. But phone are not operational. Avaya does not cover it under warranty, since line surge protectors recommended on all installs. Any Bp knows that. Next time install your system right or hire only your local Avaya Business Partner. Also make sure you are buying authentic Avaya equipment if you are making an ivestment in reliable phone system. No ebays etc... Just a word of advise

This is a common problem with Partner R7 processors, the power light comes on, but none of the stations come up. This is not a C.O. line lightning failure, just a bad component on the board that controls the stations. Send it in for repair.
