Hello,

We have a Merlin Legend with firmware 7.0 on it.
When we got it it had an 08 option card in slot 3. I removed that and put a 408 GS/LS-MLX card in it. System inventory now reports it as there but I do not have usable lines. If I use system inventory it says number 7116-7127 logical id 17-28 but board type still says s/l and no adjunct number.

I'm assuming I need to tell WinSPM that I changed the board type but I can't find where. How can I use this card for the extra lines, or have I maxed out my lines on the phone?

Thanx
Rick

Weeeelllllllll. because you had an oo8 OPT in slot 3, there were no trunks on that slot.

I believe even on Legend R7, you need to do a board renumber (others will verify) to make it see the trunk ports. BUT, when you do, it is going to change all the logical ports of your trunks in slot 4 and higher.....Which is no big deal, but you will, most likely, need to change a bunch of programming to accomodate the change.

Be careful

I poked around the software but could not figure out how to do a trunk renumber.
I'm using WinSPM can you point me in the right direction?

I'm wondering if I just need to call in a phone person. I don't fully understand what programing I may screw up. Slot 3 has the 408 card in it. Slot 4 has a Merlin Messaging card and Slot 5 has another (working) 408 in it. Does this mean I need to reprogram the last 408 after? What kinds of things do I need to program other than extension name? Will this screw up extension assignments? Hut/Rollover or anything else.

I'm I over my head?
I had in were either trying to sell me a new system or told me wrong information.

Anyone interested in doing this remotely for me? What charge? We have a way to get into WinSPM remotely on our server.

I would call in a phone guy. Especially as you do not know what ramifications there will be when you do a renumber, to the rest of the trunks....you could criple the system.

There might be a few guys from these boards that you could contact, as they could do this remotely with your assistance. Dagwood, or merlinman would appreciate the extra income, I am sure.....

Mongo is correct, several of us on this board can assist in this issue.

You may need to email one of us with exactly what you had before you started and what you ended up with.
