Whew! Glad that worked. Dunno what it is about those ETR cards and the Page All, but I had seen the behavior before.
The UPAM is used kinda like an interface adapter. If you've got one of those amplifiers that accepts a 4-wire (one pair talk path, the other pair for contact closure), then it can interface a Magix line port without a problem.
But if say you had the same amplifier but zero LS trunk ports available, you'd tie an analog station port to the UPAM and let it's VOX capability trigger the needed contact closure.
There are several examples I can think of where you would need/want/prefer a UPAM and a bunch where you could get away without one. If there isn't a driving need to remove it, I'd leave it alone.

I'm glad that the problem is narrowed down, unfortunately they still need external paging. The Valcom V-2000A unit we are using is designed for a direct connection to a Loop Start Trunk port, so I'm not sure why the port's not releasing. But at least now I have something to work with, thanks to you. Thanks again and if you like I'll post back with the final fix. Best, Mike.

For a V-2000A , it doesn't look like a UPAM is required at all if you have a LS trunk port.
