I have a customer with a Toshiba CIX670 and IES16 voicemail system. They wanted voicemail to email set-up. I set it up and they had to load a few drivers, but we can now open and listen to the wav files set. The problem is when these emails are sent to the Iphone and blackberries, they can see the mail with the wav file, but can not open or play it on their phone. What gives?
I believe the issue is with the codec used for the messages. You will need to find an app for the phones that can decipher the codec.
Change the codec in the system parameters to number 5 and it will be playable on Windows PC's and Smartphones
I will try that. Thank you. I will post what happens with this change.
Carlos, I could not find the Codec setting in the system parameters. The system is IES16.
it is in the system parameters under sys_msg_recording_audio_type default value is 3 change it to 5
Also I know for my droid i had to get a app called "remote wave" to listen to these files....have tried the codec change....
You need to make sure that you are running 4.84 software version or it does not support the proper codec version! The codec I believe is a type 8 or 9 for UM to work with Smart Phones and IPhones.
