I've got a 1480-00 8-port CLID interface that has stopped working and I can't seem to track down a manual for it. My dip switches are 1 & 3 on, the rest off. My baud rate is set to 2400 in flash 56 as well as flash 15 for the first port. I can't be sure the dip switches weren't changed but the only other thing that happened was the db9 was unplugged from the MPB and plugged back in.

I've reset the interface and the system but it still shows no caller ID.

Any help would be appreciated

Make sure that pins 7 and 8 on the 9-pin connector connected to the 1480 are shorted together. Also, with the cable disconnected from the KSU end, check to see if the data light flashes for one-half second upon an incoming call. The power supplies on these units are notorious for failing. If so, you might have difficulty in tracking one down. It might be easier to replace the 1480 with the newer 7480, even thought that one has been discontinued too.

If the db9 is plugged back on the same port then it should have started working again. That 8 port unit is terrible...good luck with it.

These are the people who originally made these units for Vodavi, as well as many other manufacturers such as Comdial, Telrad, Fujitsu, etc. Although their web site appears to indicate that they are out of the business, they may have contact information for a repair facility. I've sent these units to them in the past for repair with great success. Anyway, here is their contact information:

Thanks for the replies

I'll try vodavi monday but I doubt they will have any more to say. I agree Derrick, a db9 connection should start working when plugged back in (but the customer doesn't always see that).
I also apreciate the info on the contact info ev if all else we'll get it replaced.

Thanks again

There is some documentation for this in the old Triad FP4 install manual. Its available on Vodavi's website.
