what is the recommened way to help prevent accidental 911 calls? Our users dial 9 for an outside line and quite often (2-3 times/month) 911 gets called. Is it easy to change the 9 somewhere?
I've tried electric shock therapy but that didn't work. Thanks,
this is an IPK2 -
what system ?
is it the system thats using 9 for outgoing or are they centrex lines ?
you could put the outside lines in a dial 8 group if its the system
the only way they could dial 911 is to dial 9...get the line then dial 911...so their dialing 9911. Sounds like your not using enough electricity in the therapy.
Skip Electra IPK-2
What Ver. Software on the CPU are you running? 1.61. Is supposed to take care of 911 Problem's.
WebPro 1.60.05
KTS Firmware 01.61
thanks
To Change Line Groups it's 14-05. Do you have S/L Ext.'s with Alarms Systems Connected to it? Or Fax's? If so, They may Have 9911 In the Speed dial of the Fax.
I know it's coming from extensions because the extension that dials 911 is displayed on everyones lcd. that way we can go check on them, but no one ever does because it's 'always' accidental..
I looked at 14-05. It looks a bit out of my league..

If you allow it in COS, any station that places a 911 call will be displayed on every phones LCD until you clear it off. So if x125 dials 911, every phone will show 125>>>>>911 in the display.

That's Cool, haven't used that Feature Yet. You Learn Something new Everyday.I would try putting a Trunk Group/Loop Key on the Phones Lable it Outgoing That way They won't have to Dial a (9) for every Call.
What if I just change 11-09, 01 trunk access code?
thanks
rickman, that worked. i set a fn key to *02 trunkgroup/loopkey and used 1 as a value.
I think this should be enough to get people out of the press 9 habit. i believe I'll keep the 9 available just in case we have issues. If line 1 is busy do you think it'll still rollover to 2?
This place is better then the Concours forum I go to! Thanks
As Long as You Have an Open Line In the Line Group and They Press that Button They'll get a Line to Dial out on. (Glad I Could Help) :thumb:
Look at 21-01-12 "E911 w/o trunk code access". Change data to 0. When this value is set to 1 and the user dials 9 to access outside line, the system waits to see what next digits are (1,1 or something else). I suppose it is possible that someone is "fat-fingering" the dial pad. Any way, if you change the value to 0 in this program, then the user MUST dial 9 to get outside line, plus 911 to get to 911 service.
