I've got a pretty large install coming up next month replacing an old Rolm system at a large resort.

Planning on taking lots of pictures and wanted to know if I can post my progress here?

Thanks

Sure. We could even pin it for you until the project is complete.

800 phone install, that sounds like fun.

Enjoy doghart

Rolm was a great system until IBM bought them out, boy did they screw up a good thing up!!

Sip phones? or NEC IP phones?

No Voip, customer didn't want it internally, don't blame them.

About 150 Dterm phones and 650 analog stations. 3 PRI's to start, then going to implement 72 SIP trunks later.

OW5000 with UA5200 and MC550.

Should be fairly straightforward (I hope). PMS integration always throws me for a loop, but the staff on site really have it together so hoping for a smooth cutover.

Alrighty, let the games begin....

I was able to slide the Siemens over and get my 4 post rack into place. We also installed additional ladder rack for the 34 new tail cables coming out of the SV8300:

Getting the hardware mounted in the rack. SV8300, 3 full units and UCE Server as well as some misc equipt (Call Accounting PC, MOH etc...):

Took a break from taking pictures to install 780 phones and 6200 feet of cross connect. We used green Xconnect to keep track of old jumpers vs. new.:

Very nicely done.

How long did the data collection take?
Posted By: doghart Re: SV8300 800 phone install - 02/25/14 06:42 PM
The customer had a very good spreadsheet with all the users and rooms, 800# routing, DID info etc... on it and all up to date, so that saved an enormous amount of time.

I spent about a day and a half on site and physically walked to every multi line phone and wrote down what lines appeared, rang, what hunt group, pickup group etc...

The UCE (Pc attendant and desktop service) will be new for them and will get deployed next week. I already have it up and running, but we wanted to give them time to get over the install before introducing it.

Very impressive. Showed it to one our installers who does 8300s and he's surprized that it wasn't done as a IP install rather than TDM. Must have been a major to build that frame..

Analog phones. No matter what you do you got a frame.

Yeah, well over 600 analog stations.

No real need for VoIP and the expense to implement it at this point would be pretty counter productive.

Thanks for sharing doghart, what a great job!!

Looks good. Beside with all that existing cabling that is working why would you want to go IP?

Showed your pix to one of our 8300 installers. He was wondering why they didn't go IP phones or was it an analog install??
