I have a 4 cabinet XTS with 2 PRI cards in Slot 05 and 06 with the all of the necessary connectors between the PRI's. In order to cut back on the telecom expense, the 1st PRI was disconnected and the lines taken out of service but the card was never removed. I am now seeing an extremely high count of SLIP Alarms. My logic is to remove the 1st PRI Card and make the programming changes to completely take it out of the system. I just wanted to get a second opinion.

Check your clocking and cables. Most likely, the 1st PRI was clocking off the TelCo and the 2nd PRIB was then clocking off the 1st PRIB.

I thought about that after I sent the post . I will remove the cable and flip the switch up on the PRI being used.

As noted, you really want to clock from the provider, the BITS in the CO is likely locked to a much better frequency reference than is built into the system. Use theirs, especially if you're getting clock slips.
