Hello all -

I have a CCTV camera system set up inside an office. There is an Ethernet cable going out from the main camera system to a modem, where it is accessed via IP address.

I would like to add the IP capabilities to another network in the building, but there is only one Ethernet-out port on the camera system. If I use an Ethernet splitter and run one of the cables to each of the modems, would that present any problems??

Thank you
Matteo

More than likely yes.

That would not work at all. A solution would be to open the web interface port for the CCTV system to the internet and then the other network could access the CCTV system via its public IP address.
