is anyone happy with samsungs ip product? I put them in tunnels, put them out on the internet using the self tunneling technology but i must say there is always an issue...one way audio or intermittant booting..samsung insists that the ap works fine...I really would like to hear from other techs about what they have found.
Only problem I've had is when using a large number of IP Phones on a Public network. Set up a VPN tunnel and changed to a Private network and the problems are gone.
do you also have pc s running on your vpn? if its just phones its ok, but add computers and the audio quality is shot to hell
One thing I do know is that QOS has to be set up properly. If not, there will be problems.
that is part of the problem, some routers dont support qos and if they do once the packets are encapsulated and routed through the tunnel the qos tagging goes out the window....I really dont have any issues if i keep the ip phones on the local area network, but when i remote on the internet its always a nightmare. any suggestions?
Yes there are PC's on the same VPN tunnel and QOS is not setup... no problems. Unless you are talking about a large network, you shouldn't have any problems.
Do you lot out there in the US of A have isp that only do voice. We have a few over here and am currently getting a few sites set up with this isp.
I am sorry for stupid question.
What of bits order are in the TOS field (MGI DSP Option)?
High bit is left, isn't it?
What type of TOS are you use usually for best quality of voice?
**removed mmc above user/admin and replaced with text**
CIT,
what r u using for internet access? t1 or dsl? whats your upload and download speed. what kind of routers r u using?
the tos code would be either whats specified in your router programming or the diffserv code broken down in octal
rezen are you having remote ip phone issues? what r they?
I want setup TOS for minimal delay.
What value is correct for TOS field of Samsung
00010000 or 00001000?
They are using a partial T1 at 1MB up/down. I have a Cisco Pix on one side and a Cisco 831 on the other side.
Solved
For RTP need EF=0xB8
For Signal packets AF31=0x68 (Impossible setup now
