HI all,

I've got a Protege 616 CTX. The manual says I can program it using #,*. But when I do this I get a Code Unavailable message.

Any suggestions on how I get into this system?

Thanks

I see you are using #,* but you didn't say that you where using Function # *

Sorry,
yes I was using Function, #, *.

I've tried every extension in the office. I'm thinking it's a COS problem but without the ability to get in and change the COS I'm kind of at a loss.

Thanks.

It's been a long time and I could be wrong but that system had numerous software levels. If memory serves, the "CTX" version could only be programmed via a laptop and sprints software which also had numerous versions. The versions before the CTX could be programmed from the phone.

What happened to the folks that tried Preperation A thru G?

You may be right Reb, it's been a very long time for me as well. I may have been think of the 616 not the 616CTX

Looking at it I see that the manual does only say 616 and not 616 CTX. Guess it's off to the local dealer then.

Thanks for the help.

One more thing.

Is it possible to get ahold of the software?

I know you've got to know the version but the installer I just spoke with said they'd just upgrade to the latest version. He said he wouldn't need to worry about the current version we are on.

Thanks

If he can upgrade to the latest version, he should have the proper software. Consider yourself very fortunate that you found someone who is still current with the protoge. Any software that I might still have around is at least 6-7 years old.

I recently got a Protege 616 and don't have software to program it. I recieved it free from a company that closed and would like to make use of it. I currently am able to dial out on the phone and make a call, but when a call comes in, the line shows up and when I press it I see "TRUNK 1 BUSY" and it doesn't allow me to pickup...

Any help on that issue or getting software please email me if you have ANY insight.

Don't confuse the ctx with the 616. The protege 616 is the small 3x8 with a 3x8 exspansion. There is alot of confusion about the progression of what used to be labeled the digital 616 mat code 431484(looks like a ctx) the older software ran the old type phones starting with ko8uso software they ran the new phones. They changed the control board and software to make the ctx. I am going to start a new thread about these older units as sprint does not support them any longer.
