Mitel unit SX200 Digital (Hybrid)

Today the voice mail system (Keyvoice) quit working. So From console it will ring back and room to room will just ring. Voice mail system is up and running.

I looked in the console and seen these errors.

Major Alarm displayed
Quote
May 22 Stn Line card Failed at 03 06 05 00 Ext 215
Wake up not answered Alarm 125

May 22 PFT Sense Passed at 00 00 08 00
Bay has been cut back Alarm Code - 122

May 22 Total alarm went from No alarm to Major alarm level change due to Bay 02 Trunks

May 22 Main Control was reset due to power up.
Any help you can give would be great.
A few months ago we had ATT for phone provider and switched to Charter for our phone service. We had to put in a different digital card, but left the old on still in the cabinet.

"Today the voice mail system (Keyvoice) quit working. So From console it will ring back and room to room will just ring. Voice mail system is up and running. "

Which is it, not answering or operating correctly. Or do you mean that you can 'hear' the VM cabinet 'running', but it doesn't answer.

Are you able to make calls to, and receive calls from, the outside world? If so, it sounds like the original trunk card was busied out to stop alarms when it was 'decommissioned'. And the Power failure reset caused the busy-outs to clear. Then the unequipped trunks went into alarm. Which means the card was NOT 'decommissioned' correctly.

I'm floundering here because you're info isn't complete. Hope what I've told you helps.

Log into maintenance. Select softkeys 3, 0, 8. Select "extension number." Enter the extension number of a voicemail port.

Repeat until you have RTS all VM ports. Test voicemail.

Hint: The ports are likely to all be on the COV card.

Is there a T-1 or just COT's?

Anyway,if there is no answer from the rooms it is most likely not a trunk issue.

Definitely check the status of the voice mail ports and also restart the voice mail because the ports could be hung on that side. Reseating the voice mail card may help.

Is it COV or DNIC integration?

Isn't Keyvoice just COV? Or am I thinking of COVoice?

check room call forwarding to Vmail
Posted By: BuzzStPoint Re: Major Alarm - 05/31/11 07:15 PM
I can turn on the VM monitor and see it running.
When I try to call the VM number (IE: 701 - 704 & 777) I can hear the menu but can't access any boxes. If I push any extension it says that extension isn't available at this time.

Incoming and outgoing phone calls all work correctly.

But the forwarding just reminded me. I'll have to check it tomorrow. A few years ago we had this issue or close to it where we have to forward all the extensions to 552 for them to work..

I'll give another update tomorrow.

Ok,

Got the Voice mail back up and running. All we needed to do is forward all the extensions to 552 to get them back.

So on to the Major Alarms.
What do i need to check to solve this?

The console operator was playing around and pushed the cancel all forwarding button that shows up.

Slap thier hands

Have you tried canceling the major alarm? The alarm has to be cleared off the console, even if it's cleared in the system. AND DON'T CLEAR THE FORWARDING AGAIN!!!!! ( smile )

Actually if you read the logs, or delete them the alarm will be cleared too.

When I get back in I'll clear the logs and see if the alarm will clear.

I looked in the cabinet and see there are flashing alarms.

Here's what I noticed.

Upper part of the cabinet. (scanner 9110-021-000-SA) has 63

Lower part of the cabinet
*T1 DSI Trunk (9109-021-000-SA) Alarm Flashing

Next card, Don't have a number on it (at least I didn't write it down in my notes) but it has a status of 36 Active has a green flashing and Major Alarm Solid.

The upper cabinet is the old analog part and the scanner is showing b3 for Bay 3. The MCC is showing that the last problem was with Bay 3 Slot 6. Sounds like the alarm might be that the T1 may not be working or has some trunks not working.

Since Charter only provides loop start lines
& PRI servvice i would remove the T1 card
& remove the trunks that were on then clear alarms.then you should be ok

Or raise the alarm threshold to 1% above the % out of service.
