We are using a Nitsuko 124i (I believe), and for some reason only two of the 5 extentions we are using will ring. Now I'm no phone tech (but I am the sys admin of the network) and some how this has fallen on me. I have a manual, but I cannot seem to figure out how to program the extentions to ring. I have used the check key to verify the ringer volume (pressing Check then vol up). Other than that, I am at a loss.

Now if I call from one extention to another, the extention that is being dial will ring, but if we get an incoming call then only 2 of the extentions will ring (we want all of them to). Thanks for your help!

Look to see if they are in the incomming ring group. Generally with analog lines it's ring group 1. This has o be defined before they can ring in this scenario. If they used call coverage keys for this then it's another proceedure but alot more complicated. BTW, more than one company used system admins to do this when it has nothing to do with your job description. I came from the data side and I can tell you for a fact it takes the same amount or more taining to program large phone systems. I mean, unless you went to a University or college to get a computer science degree, (like I did) alot of what you learned has nothing to do with computers. Logic and flowcharting and the keys to programming both phones and computers.

I tried to change the ring group before, but I must not be doing it correctly because it doesn't seem to work. Anyone know how to walk me through this?

I am pretty sure the problem is the Extension Ring Group assignment. The problem I am having now is that when it asks for a password, I enter 12345678 which I thought I saw somewhere was the default password for programing the system. It won't accept it. I used 0000, but that is limited in what features it can access (and of course will not allow me to access feature 0909).

Better get your vendor out there then. Without getting into system programming you have zero chance of getting it to work.

Try sneaking into program mode using the MF level password .

Try xxxxxxxx instead of 12345678

That may or may not work as it is the default MF password for the DX2D systems we had in Australia

Please don't post passwords due to security reasons. If you want to help feel free to, but do it by email so as not to publish passwords out in the open for hackers.
Thanks
