I am installing a Call Pilot 100 with a Norstar CICS. I just checked SW version and got 30BCk07, which I read as CICS expanded 2.o with IRAD. The KSU communicates with the CP100 and programs ok, but when I got to adding the manual night service key, I got "denied" when pressing the ringing group button.
1. Does this have a RAD, and can it be turned off on site?
2. Do I need to upgrade to CICS 4.2? What do I need?
Call pilot requires 4.1 and higher with CICS/MICS
OK. It looks as if the customer needs to upgrade. It just confused me because since I was progamming the voicemail through a set, I assumed that the two systems were communicating. But when I tried to activate the night service it wouldn't activate. It read "Denied in admin".
I've just had a tech tell me that 2.0 is "backwards compatible" with Call Pilot, and it should work.
Correct?
From my experience you need 4.1 or higher software. The phone system will see it and allow you to access it sometimes, but it does not work all the time.
You should check the Norstar compatability chart.
Good Luck!!

That explains a lot. Thank you!
Everything I have heard concurs with what JJ said. 4.1 and higher for CP. It might work now, it might work next week, but in a month you never know, so proceed with caution.
That's good advice. I will advise the customer.
