hello i have a customer with a compact ics 4.2 and all i am trying to do is put a button that works as a flash hook for call waiting what feature is it? thxs
MooreTel, "FLASH" is the common term in the U.S. When I was first exposed to the expression "LINK", I thought 'That's Stupid'. But, after using my head for something besides a hatrack, I thought, "Well, OK, That Works, Too". And 'Recall' is sometimes used! Which works in a call-waiting scenario. It's all in the 'ears' of the beholder, I guess. John C.
The point of my post was to physically identify the button. The term is of one's choosing...switch for all I care.
I don't know about the US, but in Canada, the button kits have a "Link" button, not a "Flash" one.
Too many users change the button assignment and don't identify. They may remember that the "conference" button is actually something else, but if someone else goes to use the phone, they could end up disconnecting a call or some other possibility.

Marv,
I dont see this in the programming anywhere. Also checked the manual; is this a Mics only programming step, because i failed to find it in the cics manual. Only asking because i need to set this up next week.
