It has been a while since I programmed a BCM 200
I can't remember do I need a lap top to change the date and time, I would appreciate it if someone would help me out here.

In my experience, the BCM400 date and time cannot be updated from the phone. It will allow you to make the change, same procedure as a Norstar, but it will not update.

It depends on which software version, but it is recommended that all BCM programming be done through browser or element manager.

The BCM 200/400 version 4.0, Programming through the phone is allowed, as well as the BCM-50's. It is even in the manual on how to do it.

The older BCM 200/400 versions, as KevHawk13 says, it must be through the browser.
But the 4.0 will accept the change through the phone.
