I don't typically work on Nortel equipment, in fact this is the only one and I do it for free for a friend. This system is a Meridian 6X16 DR5...I think i have that right. I can call out no problems but when i reach an auto attendant that requires me to enter a 1 for this 2 for that etc. it goes no place. I can not hear the tones from the key pad. Is there a setting for this somehwere I missed?

Thanks for the help.

Check to see if Tone is selected. May be on Pulse!

The lines are either set to pulse, or on the older systems, you had to tell it to allow a phone to dial digits after it made a call. Not sure why... Anyway, I will have to dig to find where it is in programming to make sure that is the setting I am looking for.

If you put a butt set on the line and put it on monitor, you will hear the clicking or the touch toning on dialing a call.

Assuming you can program a nortel, tone or pulse would be set under
"Lines"

on the older Nortel's default was pulse its a lot quicker to check that then monitoring with a butt set
